The probability that any racquet manufacturer makes a racquet that exactly matches your playing style is essentially zero. For this reason, most serious player and practically all touring pros play with some sort of customized racquet. A customizatized racquet can range from a specifically manufactured racquet to any number of slight to major modifications that can be preformed to “off-the-shelf” racquets.

Racquet customization can help with injury alleviation but most commonly customization is designed to enhance racquet performance. We can all benefit from some type of customization of our racquets.

What is racquet customization? It is complicated to explain but it can range from a slight handle modification, to changing the balance, or the matching of two racquets, to the complete over hauling of your racquet.

The following racquet properties can be changed or modified by customization:

• Grip size and shape
• Weight
• Swingweight
• Balance
• Length

SRS offers a complete range of racquet customization for the recreational or pro player. For those players interested in customization SRS will go on the court with a player and observe how the racquet is helping or hindering their performance. SRS will then recommend how the player’s current racquet could be customized for optimum performance or recommend other racquet choices, depending upon the player’s preferences.
