Stringing
Equipment Many elements must be perfectly combined to achieve the best possible racquet performance. State of the art stringing machines, the best in racquet diagnostic equipment, a well equipped workshop are necessary to assist in that special blend of precision and craftsmanship for that perfect racquet. SRS utilizes the finest in stringing equipment to ensure consistent results every time. The Babolat Sensor Expert is currently the most accurate stringing machine available. The Expert is an electronic constant pull or dynamic tensioning system. This dynamic system allows the string to reach the desired tension by placing a constant load on the string until the clamps are fixed. It is the most accurate tensioning system currently available. The Sensor Expert also features a floating tensioning head that raises as tension is applied to the string and puts the string and the racquet on the same plane, reducing friction which increases accuracy. The string clamps are held in place with a electromagnetic based for great accuracy. Other features include an adjustment for tensioning mains and cross strings separately, 5 speed adjustment, configurable pre-tensioning function.
Weight: Racquet is measured unstrung or strung , in ounces and grams. Balance: Determines where the balance is located. Indicated in points head heavy or light, inches head light or head heavy. Stiffness: Frame stiffness measured longituditional at or about the throat area. This is recognized as the main flex point of a frame during ball contact. The higher the value the stiffer (more powerful) the frame. Dynamic Inertia (swingweight): This measurement quantifies how heavy a racquet feels in motion. The higher the value, the heavier the swingweight and less maneuverable the racquet. Weight and balance are the primary factors that determine swingweight. Keep in mind that a racquet with a low swingweight is more maneuverable but provides less power, if swung at the same speed. Manueverability: Measured on a scale from 0—100, the higher the value the more maneuverable the racquet. Weight and swingweight are the primary factors affecting maneuverability. Stringbed
Stiffness: The RDC measures the overall stringbed stiffness,
using a plunger type device, that is placed in the center of the stringbed
and an relative index number is produced. This number is not actual tension
but based upon a scale from 0—100. The higher the value the tighter
the stringbed. The racquet can be checked at a later date and the new
value is then recorded. The RDC compares the two values and determines
how much tension the stringbed has lost and most importantly how much
energy remains in the strings. |
